Laser Production as a Service: A Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies

  • February 10, 2026
  • 8:30 - 17:30
  • ARENA2036, Pfaffenwaldring 19, 70569 Stuttgart, Germany

10 February 2026 — ARENA2036 & IFSW, University of Stuttgart

Overview

The Lasers4MaaS consortium is pleased to announce a one-day workshop on “Laser-Production-as-a-Service,” bringing together leading experts from industry, academia and innovation networks to explore how advanced laser and digital manufacturing technologies are enabling new paradigms of flexible, decentralised and sustainable production.

As manufacturing evolves toward more agile “on-demand” models, this workshop provides a unique opportunity to examine how dynamic laser beam shaping technologies, AI-enabled decision support, interoperable data platforms and modular production schemes can turn the vision of servitised manufacturing into reality.

Why This Workshop Matters

  • Bridging technology and services: Through the workshop, participants will learn how laser-based manufacturing can be offered as a service — removing the need for heavy upfront investments while enabling flexibility, reconfigurability and on-demand production.
  • Cross-sector relevance: The discussions will cover applications across key industries including automotive e-mobility, aerospace, fusion energy, hydrogen, and food packaging — demonstrating the broad potential of laser-servitisation.
  • Digital & sustainable manufacturing: Combined with digital platforms, IIoT, real-time AI, digital twins and life-cycle based tools, laser-production-as-a-service supports sustainable, circular and resource-efficient manufacturing aligned with European Green Deal objectives.
